Naledi Media

I produce films. I have a particular interest in African films. In the hundred years humanity has practiced, motion picture production. African stories have generally been overlooked. Yet Africans tell great stories, and make great films. Like the late and legendary Ousmane Simbčne, I aim to bring African Cinema to the forefront in the film industry.

In Sesotho, the language of the Southern African country Lesotho, naledi means star. I was born in Lesotho where I lived for 17 years. I have chosen Naledi Media as a reminder of my birth place and that ultimately my greatest inspiration comes from my life experience. I currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area and I am in the masters program of motion picture and television at the Academy of Art University. Have a look at what I have done so far and I will post more as it becomes available.

My Sankofa

This montage describes one of my primary goals as I begin a career in film, which is to reach back into my past and into the realm of my ancestors to retrieve stories that will help me light the stars in the African sky. The music is sampled from Mos Def and Talib Kewly's Black Star album.

Under One Sky

Here is short introductory video I produced for a camp in western North Carolina, that serves youth in foster care.

Scene from Sex, Lies, and Videotape

Check out this scene I produced and directed for class on directing actors. The class assignment was simply to direct a scene from Steven Sodaburgs Sex, Lies, and Videotape.
